The paring chisel blade is made of high-alloy Cr-Mn steel and heat treated to 59 HRc. The ergonomic handle is made of hornbeam wood and is equipped with a brass ring. Peeling chisels are primarily used for carefully shaving thin amounts of wood when assembling joints. The long length offers maximum control. These tools are always pushed by hand, they are never hammered.
